Catherine was born July 26, 1857 in Blythswood, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. She was the daughter of Duncan McPherson and Jessie Main.[1][2]
She married William Campbell in 1876 in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.[3]
Sometime after October 21, 1879 but before the Census in the USA in 1880, Catherine, William and children Jessie (born 1877) and John (born October 1879) were living in Toledo, Lucas county, Ohio since they had John's birth registered there and stated that he had been born in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
By the Census of 1880, they were boarders in a home in Detroit, Wayne county, Michigan and William was employed as a plumber.
When her husband William died at age 30 on August 14, 1886 by drowning, it was stated that he was married and although a search has been made on Ancestry and FamilySearch, I have not been able to find Catherine's death or a second marriage. (MacKechnie-21 17:57, 19 June 2021 (UTC))
