Biography

Max John Mendel was born on 10 Jun 1887 in Meckenheim, Germany.

He married Grete David on 15 Apr 1920. They had one daughter, Eva Karoline.

Before his citizenship was annulled by the Nazi regime in 1939, he had been a judge. [1]

The family emigrated to the United States first via Zurich and then Rotterdam and Havana[2], arriving in Miami on 6 Oct 1939[3] and settling in Los Angeles, California where Max lived the rest of his life. [4] [5]

Max John Mendel passed away in Los Angeles on 20 Jun 1956.[6]
