RootsWeb: http://herkimer.nygenweb.net/columbia/columbiabios.html. "MILLER, John C., was born in Columbia, N.Y., in 1836. His wife was Miss Rosetta HOUSE, who was born in Warren in 1834. They have one son, who was born in 1862. J.G.'s father, Christopher MILLER, was a native of Columbia, as was also his mother, whose maiden name was Rebecca HOUSE. They had four children, two of whom are living. Christopher was under sheriff during two terms. [1879 History of Herkimer County, published by F.W.Beers and Co., 1870., pp. 239-240]" Note the discrepancy in the wife's name as Rosetta, not Rhoda as per Melvin Shaver; their source, the Beers book, is notably unreliable on names.
