Her place of birth on the 1841 census is given as Staffordshire, on the 1851 census Bloxwich, Staffordshire, whether this is correct or an assumption on the part of the census taker is unknown.
The 1841 census describes Elizabeth as 47 years old, Family members include her husband James, age 50, a chainmaker and children Enoch, Charles, David, Jane, Amey, and Henry.
The 1851 census describes Elizabeth as 59 years old, a widow, born in Bloxwich, in the business of chain making employing 1 man and son, whether it is 1 man and his son, or a son of Elizabeth is unclear.

The name has various spellings, some seem to be regional variations, Millichip, Millichope, Millichap, Milliship, Millerchip, Mellowship etc.
Millerchip, Mellowship seem most common in Warwickshire, with the other variations found in Shropshire and Staffordshire
There are no baptism records that match a birth in Bloxwich.
Speculations include that she was not born in Staffordshire but moved to Bloxwich as a young child and assumed she was born in Bloxwich. There is a record for a Elizabeth Mellowship baptised 22 July 1792 at Bedworth, Warwickshire however she died 13 March 1793. There are several Mellowship families in the Foleshill, Bedworth area.
