Sarah Milsom was born about 1820 (based on her age at death). She was the daughter of Stephen & Charlotte (nee Deadman) of Milton, Lilbourne & Pewsey, Wiltshire, England.

Sarah Milsom married Thomas Henry Pyke on 13 Jan 1842 at Saint Katherine Cree church, London, England. ^[1]

Sarah and her husband, Thomas, are believed to have emigrated to Australia soon after their marriage in 1842, settling in Ballan, in the colony of Victoria. Most of their children were born there. Henry is said to have sold out his properties in 1853, he and his family returned to England about 1854. She returned to Australia In 1860, arriving in Melbourne on the ship "Swiftsure" on 7 June 1860. ^[2]
