Biography
William M. Moffett was born on 21 April 1815 In the Gulf of Mexico.[1]
He married Lucy Caroline Cox, daughter of Littleton Meeks Cox and Nancy A. (Stewart) Cox, on 7 June 1863 at Russell County, Alabama.[2][1]
He worked in a rolling mill when he and Lucy appeared on the census of 8 July 1870 at Precinct 4, Baker County, Alabama. They were listed next to her parents.[3] He was a machinist when he and Lucy appeared on the census of 3 June 1880 at Rome, Floyd County, Georgia. Her mother was living with them.[4]
William died on 28 January 1885 at Rome, Floyd County, Georgia and was buried at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Rome, Floyd County, Georgia. His memorial has photos and links to those of family members.[1]
