Biography

Jerusha Moffit, daughter of Alvin Moffit and Sarah (Wright) Moffit, was born on 14 Oct. 1823 at Sandgate, Bennington County, Vermont.^[1][2]

She married James Wilder on 25 March 1843 at Rupert, Vermont.^[3]

She married Mr. Vernaton.^[4]

She married Gilbert Thomas, son of Amos and Abigail Thomas, on 4 June 1848 at Pawlet, Rutland County, Vermont.^[1]

She and Gilbert appeared on the census of 4 Sep. 1850 in the home of his parents at Sunderland, Bennington, Vermont.^[5] She and Gilbert appeared on the census of 27 June 1860 at Manchester, Bennington, Vermont.^[6] She appeared on the census of Aug. 1870 at Conway, Franklin, Massachusetts.^[7] She was a widow when she appeared on the census of 16 June 1880 at Searsburg, Bennington, Vermont.^[8]

Jerusha died on 31 March 1896 at Wardsboro, Windham County, Vermont and was buried at West Wardsboro Cemetery, West Wardsboro, Windham County, Vermont. Her memorial has links to those of family members.^[2]
