Biography

Edward Monins / Monyns was born in 1600 the son of William Monins 1st. Baronet of Waldershare and his 2nd. wife Jane Twisden daughter of Roger Twisden, of East Peckham, co. Kent, ^[1]

He was educated at University College, Oxford, matriculating 8 Nov 1616 at the age of 16. ^[2]

He married Elizabeth Style, eldest daughter of Sir Thomas Style of Wateringbury and his wife Elizabeth Foulkes, daughter of Robert Foulkes. ^[1]

Sir Edward Monyns succeeded to the Baronetcy 1643 on the death of his father. ^[1]

He was Sheriff of Kent 1645-46. ^[1]

Sir Edward Monyns, 2nd Bart. died in 1663 with no male issue. His will was probated in 1666 and he was succeeded to the Baronetcy by his brother Thomas who died without isue in 1678 and the Baronetcy became extinct. ^[1]

His widow died in 1703. Her will was probated in 1703 and 1706. ^[1]
