Biography

Francesca was born in 1846. She is the daughter of Gaspare Montelione, a field hand, and Maria Cicio ^[1].

Francesca was named for her paternal grandmother, Francesca Santoro.

Research Notes

Francesca's marriage record names her mother as Maria Ciaccio instead of Maria Cicio. It is fairly certain that the marriage record belongs to this Francesca as the dates are consistent between the birth and marriage records, and the father's name is the same. There is no record of a Gaspare Montelione married to a Maria Ciaccio, based on a complete inventory of all Monteliones in this town from 1821 through 1910.
