Biography

Huldah Montgomery was the daughter of Jonathan Montgomery and Sarah Callin, born 7 Mar 1829 in Richland County, Ohio. She married a school teacher named Isaiah Walker on 5 Jun 1849 in Richland County, Ohio. In the first few years of their marriage they lived in Jefferson, Richland County.^[1]

Huldah Montgomery and Isaiah Walker had two children:

• Clara A (Walker) Welch (1851-1932)
• Mary Elvina (Walker) Terry (1868-1957)

Isaiah and Huldah moved with their older daughter to Rochester, Fulton County, Indiana, in May 1859. They had their younger daughter there. Isaiah worked as a county surveyor for many years. In 1905, Isaiah and Huldah followed their daughters’ families to California.^{[2][3][4][5][6]}

Isaiah died at the home of his younger daughter, Mrs. Samuel Terry, in Glendora, Los Angeles County on 5 Nov 1906, and he was buried in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Huldah died 30 Dec 1918 in Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California, and was buried in Rochester with Isaiah.^{[7][8][9][10]}
