The following year he was ordained priest by the Bishop of Adelaide. His first curacy was at St Luke's, Adelaide, in 1893, and he remained at that church for three years. In 1896 he was made curate of Christ Church, Mount Gambier, but after a very short stay in the South-East he went to assist his father at South-road. After a year there he was appointed rector of Holy Trinity, Melrose, and held that position till 1900. During his stay at Melrose he was admitted to the degree of Licentiste in Theology of the Australian College of Theology. On leaving Melrose he was rector of the Blakiston Church till 1904. The he relinquished parochial work for a time, and was engaged in scholastic work at Glenelg until 1911, when he was appointed curate of St John's, Coromadel Valley, under the Rev ES Jose. On Mr Jose's resignation from that circuit, the district was divided, and Mr Moore was appointed to the charge of the Clarendon Mission, where he remained till his death."
