Biography

Christian Moore was born around 1668. She was the second daughter of Thomas Moore and Eleanor Covert, of Chancellorstown and Barne, in County Tipperary, Ireland. ^[1][2][3]

In 1705, Christian married Richard Hutchinson of Knocklofty, near Clonmel, in County Tipperary. They had no children. ^[4][5][6]

Christian Hutchinson died on 7 Jun 1727. She was buried at St Mary's Church, in Clonmel. ^[7][8]

On her passing, an engraved memorial was added to the Hutchinson family monument in the church:-

Here rests [sic] the Dear Remains of Mrs. Christian Hutchinson Daughter of Thomas Moore Esqr. Late of Barne and Wife of Richard Hutchinson of Knocklofty. This Tomb is erected by Her surveiving Husband in Token of Her Ever Dear and true affecting Remembrance of A Happy Partnership of 22 years. She departed this life the 7th Day of June Anno Dei 1727 in the 59th year of her age and is Here deposited the late Dear Companion of Her life when God shall call him [cetera desunt] ^[9][10]

Richard Hutchinson died in 1757. It is assumed he was buried with Christian at St Mary's Church in Clonmel, in accordance with his wishes expressed in the monument. ^[11][12]
