Calvin was born about 1855. He is the son of Sheldon Morgan and Abigail Warner.
In 1860 an S.C. Morgan (49, b. NY, mason) headed an Barton, NY (Tioga County) household with Abigail Morgan (46, b. MA), Charles H. Morgan (25, b. PA, daguerian artist), George Morgan (21, b. PA), William Morgan (19, b. PA), Frances Morgan (17, b. PA), Theodore Morgan (14, b. PA), John Morgan (13, b. PA), Frederick Morgan (11, b. PA), Joseph Morgan (8, b. PA), and Calvin Morgan (5, b. PA).

NH, first marriage, 9 children), son George Morgan (25, b. PA, mason), daughter Fanny A. Morgan (22, b. PA), son Theodore T. Morgan (18, b. PA, mason), son John W. Morgan (17, b. PA), son Frederick L. Morgan (16, b. PA), son Joseph L. Morgan (13, b. PA), and son Calvin P. Morgan (10, b. PA).[1]
In 1870 an Abigail Morgan (56, b. NH) headed a Barton, NY (Tioga County) household with Joseph Morgan (18, b. PA, mason's apprentice), Calvin Morgan (15, b. PA), Frank Titus (23, b. PA, brakeman L.V.R.R.), Burr Ridgeway (19, b. PA, foreman), and Frank Ganly (27, b. Ireland, brakeman).
