Son of Thomas R Morris Jr b. 1809 in North Carolina –d. 1854 in Grant County, Indiana (Marriage: 1835 in Wayne County, Indiana) and Nelly Osborn 1817–1888

Reuben Morris was a resident of Dallas County, Iowa, when he enlisted as a Private on 15 October 1861 at the age of 21 years. He mustered in Co L 4th Regiment Iowa Cavalry on 25 November 1861. Reuben Morris received a disability discharge on 9 January 1863 at St. Louis, Missouri. Reuben Morris applied for his pension in Arkansas on 5 November 1891. Application #1069485 and Certificate #1013847. His wife, Lydia, applied for her Widow's Pension in Arkansas on 1 October 1917. Application #1108022 and Certificate #869774.
