Additional Information

The following is an article in a Port Augusta newspaper in 1900. It refers to Henry's death being "a few months ago" even though Henry had died 4 years earlier. It refers to similar information included in son, Isaac's obituary and again later in daughter, Margaret's also and therefore is about Henry.

The Port Augusta Dispatch, Newcastle and Flinders Chronicle (SA.) Fri 11 May 1900 HENRY MORRIS—RAILWAY MAN. https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/197611017

One of the oldest (if not the oldest), hands on the Big Mine was Henry Morris n charge of the railway gang. He died only a few months back, but for mental vigor and alertness (especially with fists) he was not to be beaten by the younger ones. He was an historian of the progress of the locomotive having been "boy" to George Stephenson at the time he ran his famous "Comet" and many a rattling yarn spin of his master. Old Henry could neither read nor write till he was sixteen. Through saving Stephenson from being run over by his own engines he roused the great man's interest, and the grand locomotive inventor made time even amongest all his multifarious duties and interests to teach old Henry the three R's. Stephenson's interest in humanity was always one of his greatest virtues and it seems to link with the long past to have talked with a man to whom this side of his character was so ungrudgingly opened.
