"An inquest was held at Taylorville touching the death of a young man named William Morris, who was killed in the Tyneside mine. Deceased, and a mate were working at a face, and after firing a shot went to Ioad the trucks. One block brought down was about a ton in weight; and it was decided to roll it over. In doing so it struck a prop, which flew out, striking deceased and fracturing his scull. He died almost immediately. The inquest was adjourned till Saturday to allow the Inspector of Mines to visit the scene of the accident."
