Biography

John Morrogh was born in County Cork, Ireland. He was the son of Dominick Morrogh.^[1]

John was mentioned in the will of his father, Dominick, in 1681 and left £20.^[1][2]

John married unknown Ronayne and had at least the following issue:^[3]

1. James Morrogh^[1]
2. Dominick Morrogh^[1]
3. Margaret Morrogh m Nicholas Woulfe^[1]
4. Michael Morrogh m Margaret Ronayne
5. Henry Morrogh m Anastasia Gallwey

He held lands in Kilquane/ Kilcoan, County Cork.^[1][3]

He has died after 1681 and before 1735 most likely in County Cork.

Research Notes

Burke's Pedigree of Morrogh Bernard has many errors and should not be relied upon as accurate for many of the Morrogh profiles. It appears to be accurate for John Morrogh although does not name his wife or two of his children. The Peerage uses the same Burke reference.
