1999 Death
NORMA MOSS HAVENS, 74, of Bay City, Texas, former longtime Burden, Kansas resident, passed away Monday morning, October 25, 1999.
Havens was born September 12, 1925 at A{tl}anta, Kansas, to Harvey and Bernice (Williams) Moss. After attending Atlanta area schools, she worked in Atlanta and Winfield restaurants.
On February 11, 1944, she was united in marriage to Cecil O. Havens at San Miguel, California, and they resided in San Miguel.
The Havens lived in Burden, Kansas during the 1950s and 1960s. She owned and operated the Burden Cafe, and later was employed with Henderson Drug Store.
They lived in Fairfax and Cleveland, Oklahoma before moving to Bay City, Texas. Havens owned and operated her own ceramics business in Fairfax. She was a longtime member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, James O. Havens of Cambridge; a daughter, Veita K. Miguez, Bay City; 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 step-granddaughter.[1]
