Obituary of Lucinda Mauser Cox dated 6 Feb 1908
Mrs. Lucinda Cox was born in a place called Matterson County, Missouri, Dec. 25, 1822.
While a child her parents, Mr. Henry Mauser and Mrs. Marguerite Mauser moved to Fannin county Texas, in the year of 1835, where they remained the rest of their days.
After parents moved to Fannin county Miss Lucinda Mauser married Mr. Nathan Cox in the year of 1842. After they were married they lived in Fannin county till 1861 then they moved to Uvalde County on the Nueces river about eight miles form Uvalde and lived there for about ten years. Then came to Kinney and have lived here for twenty nine years.
Mrs. Lucinda Cox was the mother of eleven children of which five are living in Kinney county at present. They are: Mr. Nathan Cox Jr., Mr. Fred Cox, Mrs. McGovern, Mrs. A. Schwandner and Mrs. George Schwandner. She also has two sisters living in Bracketville, Mrs. Ike Cox and Mrs. Bettie Larrison.
Mrs. Cox and her husband had many trials and hardships in the early days on the frontier.
