The News-Review, Roseburg, Oregon, 5 March 1997 Ruth Anna Thornton THORNTON, Ruth Anna – Age of 83, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 1997 in a local hospital. She was born on April 6, 1913 at Winnipeg Manitoba CAN to Charles and Barbara (Stiger) Moyer. On November27, 1965 in Lemon Grove, California she married Glenn Bernard Thornton, who preceded her in death on November 14, 1994. Mrs. Thornton had worked for many years as a medical secretary. She moved to Roseburg in 1995 from San Diego, California where she had lived since 1939. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Arlene Bryson of Roseburg; a son Lyle J Pesh of Foster City, California; two step-daughters; Mary Ann Allen of Spring Valley, California and Linda Salazar of La Mesa, California; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and Aunt Pearl Thompson of Escondido, California. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 7, 1997 at 2 pm at Greenwood Memorial Park Mortuary in San Diego, California. Pastor Lynn Bryson, her grandson, will officiate. WILSON'S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES is in charge of arrangements.
