Biography

Mrs. Hannah Hall, 87, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth’s hospital, Appleton. The funeral will be held Saturday from St. Mary’s Catholic church in that city. Rev. J. E. Meagher will officiate. Burial will be in St. Augustine’s cemetery, Chilton.

Mrs. Hall was born in Ireland on Feb. 23, 1847, and at the age of four came to the United States with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Mulcahy, late of the city of Chilton. After living in the east for a short time, the family came to Wisconsin and located on a farm in the town of Rantoul, Calumet County, and later moved to this city. Hannah Mulcahy was married to James Hall and with her husband lived on a farm in the town of Chilton. After her husband’s death Mrs. Hall resided for a time in Chilton. About twenty years ago she went to Appleton to reside. She recently sold her home and went to live at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. She was ill but a short time.

Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Anna Frawley, Appleton; and Nieces and nephews. Mrs. J. J. Minahan of this city is a niece of Mrs. Hall who was a woman of sterling qualities and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. Wm. Mulcahy, father of Mrs. Hall, was well known in this community, having held the office of county clerk for many years. Chilton times. – October 4, 1934
