Edmund Munday was born in 1530 in Oxfordshire, England, likely near Aston Rowant or Chinnor in the southwest of the county. Thus far, no record has been found as to who his parents were. At the church of St. Peter & St. Paul in Aston Rowant, when he was approximately 27-years-old, he married 17-year-old Isabel Belson, also of resident of Oxfordshire, and doubtlessly from around the Aston Rowant/Chinnor area. The pair would have at least two children. In 1563, when Edmund was 33-years-old, and Isabel 23-years-old, their son, Richard Munday was born. Mary Munday was also born to the pair, but when is unknown, as is what became of her. Another question is when Edmund Munday died. He is likely buried in the St. Peter & St. Paul Churchyard in Aston Rowant, though due to the age, the headstone may not exist any longer.
