Robley was born in 1881. He was the son of Robert Munger. He passed away in 1942.
The Centennnial History of The Country Club of Birmingham, reports on some of Robley’s accomplishments as a golfer. “The 1927 AGA was held on the new course. Robley (Bob) Munger defeated club member Bill Moughon, 2 and 1 in the 36-hole finals. Munger had first played golf with his father, Robert Sylvester Munger, and his brothers on the old cow pasture course near Elmwood Cemetery. In the 1920 city championship, Bob was victor, his brothers Eugene won the second flight and Lonnie took the third. Bob also won the first Harris Cub at the club in 1925 and built his home across from number 7 green on the east course.”

Robley C. Munger Dies At Home Here
Robley Charles Munger, 61, son of the late Robert Sylvester Munger, pioneer Birmingham citizen, died late Monday night at his home, 1131 South 30th Street.
Born at Nexia, Tex. Mr. Munger came to Birmingham with his parents in 1891. He was night manager for the Continental Gin Company.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Robley Charles Munger, a son, Robley Charles Munger, Jr., a stepson, William E. Hood, two brothers, Eugene and Lonnie P. Munger and four sisters, Mrs. Alex C Montgomery, Mrs. Mary Munger Thach, Mrs. Rosa M. Earle and Mrs. Hayden Brooks.
funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at the John's funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin A. Franklin officiating. Buriel will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family has made a request that no flowers tributes be sent. Active pallbearers will be: Eugene Munger, L.P. Munger, A. C. Montgomery, W. H. Brooks, R. C. Munger, Jr., William E. Hood, Paul Earle and Lt. Guy Tate.
