When Thomas Crosby NANCE was born on May 28, 1858, in Tennessee, his father, Thomas, was 27 and his mother, Louisa, was 23. He married Katherine "Katie" SIMMS in 1882 in Texas. They had eight children in 17 years. He died on March 9, 1931, in Bee, Texas, at the age of 72, and was buried in Live Oak, Texas.
