Black Mountain - Rachel Nelon Burgin, 73, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at her residence in Black Mountain.

A native of Buncombe County, she was the wife of 55 years to the late Grover Bryant Burgin, who preceded her in November 2006.

She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Minnie Owenby Nelon.

She was preceded in death by a son; Steve Burgin; sisters; Corrine Burgin, Nanney Brown; brother; David Nelon.

She loved to attend her church, and was a Christian lady. She was a very outgoing person who loved her friends, loved to go out and eat with her family. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Her family was the light of her life.

Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
