He graduated from West Point in 1914; Major Arthur B. Newman, chief of the equipment section in the office of Chief of Cavalry at his death. He was the son-in-law of Brigadie-General Lewis, Commandant at Camp Travis.
The Congregational Church, of Lewiston, Maine held a Memorial Service for Major Arthur Newman on Jul 21st. The memorial notice mentions he is the son of Benjamin and Caroline G. Newman. Mentions he is a West Point Grad.[3]

Arthur died on July 1, 1922 in District of Columbia, United States, aged 32, from injuries sustained when he was thrown from his horse in a polo match at Potomac Park. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington.[5][1] .[6].[7]
