Agnes, daughter of John Pringle Nicol and Jane Tullis, was born on 28 Jul 1837 in , Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland.^[1]

In the 1861 census Agnes (age 23) was the step-daughter of Elizabeth Nichol in Huntly Lodge, Edinburgh St Cuthberts, Midlothian.^[2]

Agnes Jane Nichol married Willam Jack on 30 Mar 1861 in the district of Newington, Edinburgh, Scotland., The 1861 Statutory Marriage Record of the event, states that Agnes Jane Nichol was resident of Homestay Lodge (unclear), Merchiston, a suburb of Edinburgh and William Jack (Inspector of Schools) was resident of Ayr (the street address of 6 Cassillis street is somewhat unclear) and It also nominated William parents as Robert Jack, Cabinet Maker and Margaret Logan and nominated the brides’ parents as John Pringle Nichol, Professor of Astronomy and Jean Tullis.^{[3] [4] [5]}

Agnes died on 16 Nov 1901 and was buried in Grange Cemetery, Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh, Scotland.^[6]
