June 1655 Dorothy (Nichols) Downman acknowledges a debt from the estate of William Downman to her father, "J. Nicholes" for 922 lbs. tobacco. Also, on the 12th she begs the Court to "bestow her bed & that belongeth to upon her not having anything to lie upon."[2]
