Clara, or Clarissa, Nichols was born in Cohasset, Massachusetts, in 1783, the daughter of Caleb and Lydia (Kent) Nichols.[1] (Note that her headstone gives her year of birth as 1784. Also note that her birth record says she is the daughter of Caleb and Hannah Nichols.)
She was a resident of Cohasset, MA, in 1807, when she married Hector Stockbridge, also of Cohasset.[2] They had one child:
Lewis Nichols, 1807-1882
After Hector died in 1810, she remarried in 1818 to Henry Pratt. They had 4 children:
Adaline, 1819-1890
Louisa, 1821-1903
Hannah Hobart, 1824-1906
Henry T., 1829-1864
Clarissa died in 1839 when she was 55 years old. She is buried with her second husband at the Cohasset Central Cemetery.[3]
