Biography

John Samuel was born in 1915. He is the son of Joseph Nicolosi and Leoluchina Spatafora.^[1] His godparents were John Powers and Eva Rocca.^[2] John Powers, an alderman in Chicago for the Democratic party, provided the $25,000 bond and the reduction of the bond to $10,000 for his father Giuseppe and his uncle Carmelo when they were jailed for the kidnapping of 6-year-old Angelo Marino in 1911.^[3]

John Samuel's baptismal record notes he marries Frances Gerambia at Our Lady of Grace in Chicago on 18 August 1947.^[4]
