Marte was born in 1756 at Aasland, Kilebygda.[1] She was the daughter of Niels Guttormsen Aasland and Anne Haagensdatter.[1]

She was confirmed on 23 November 1777 in Bamble.[2]

She married Erich Gundersen. No wedding record has been found, but it's likely that they were married in Bamble, where there's a period in the early 1780s when the parish records are poorly kept.

She married Niels Rasmussen Berth on 26 November 1791 at Østsida, Porsgrunn.[3][4]

In the 1801 census at Herre, Bamble, Marthe Nielsdatter, 46 years old, is in her second marriage to Niels Rasmusen Barth.[5]

She died in 1809 at Herre, Bamble.[6]
