Theodor Waldemar Nielsen was born in 1854 in Eggeslevmagle sogn. He is the son of Anders Nielsen and Dorthea Hansen. His mother was 28 when he was born.[1] Many references have his mother's name as Dorthea Poulsen Nielsen. Dorthea Hansen/Handsdatter is his mother's name documented on his birth record.
He and his parents and two sisters and brother immigrated to America on the ship, Monarch of the Sea, in 1861. His name on the ship roster was Theodor Valdemar. The family traveld with the Samuel A. Woolley Company to Utah. He died on 11 Jan 1924 in Milton, Morgan, Utah and is buried in Milton Cemetery in Milton, Morgan, Utah. Both his Death Certificate [2]and headstone has his name as Waldemar Theodore Nelson.
