Bernard was born in 1890 to Frank Nieporte and Helen Luening.

His parents were separated by 1900, and he was living with his mother in the household of her parents. ^[1] Ten years later, in 1910, he was living in the same place. ^[2]

In 1917, Bernard enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for 2 years during WWI. ^{[3] [4]}

In 1920, he was once again living in the household of his grandfather. ^[5]

In 1924, he married Margaret McHugh. ^[6] They had four children by 1940. ^[7]

Bernard passed away in Florida in 1967. ^{[8] [9]}

Research Notes

Online trees for this family are full of conflicting/wrong information. There is no evidence - anywhere- that his father was named Bernard Edward. Many of the sources that are attached to Bernard Edward are for a completely different person.

On his parents' marriage record, his fathers name clearly says Franz Edward. There is no doubt that his parents later divorced.
