OBITUARY: Jose Luis Nieto, age 60 of Rockdale, passed away Sunday June 7, 2020 at his home in Rockdale. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 12, 2020 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Rockdale. Visitation is Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jose was born June 5, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Margaret (Ortiz) Nieto. He attended school in Hicksville, Ohio and Edinburg, Texas. He has lived the past 40 years in Rockdale. On September 12, 1984, he and Mary Dockery were married in the Milam County Courthouse. Jose worked as a heavy equipment operator. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Nieto.

Surviving family is his wife, Mary Nieto of Rockdale; two sons, Jeffrey Nieto and Adrain Nieto of Rockdale; daughter, Felicia Nieto of Rockdale; his father, Arthur Nieto of Rockdale; sister, Kathy Nieto of Rockdale; two brothers, Paul Nieto and Edwardo Nieto both of Rockdale and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Adrain Nieto, Paul Nieto, Edwardo Nieto, Jeffrey Nieto, Billy Tindle and Mario Garza.
