Blev båtsman men rymde från tjänsten 1868 till Nord Amerika, sannolikt Chicago då hustrun Gertrud året därpå får attest till Nord Amerika och återfinns i passagerarlistorna med Chicago som destination. Inget är f n känt om vad som hände Lars och Gertrud i USA. Lars styvson Lars Erik Larsson tycks ha blivit kvar i Sverige till 1873 då även han utvandrar.
