Mary (Nolde) Kechter was a Volga German.

Mary (Nolde) Kechter has German Roots.

Mary Elizabeth Nolde was born in 1892 in Russia. Her obituary lists Alexandria as colony name. The Nolde first settlers came to Norka, so the colony could be daughter colony of Alexandertal (Neu-Schilling). Her father was born in Norka based upon his ship manifest.

She married Heinrich Kechter on on 11 Oct 1918.

Mary Kechter passed away at age 87 in 1980 in Bayard, Nebraska.

Mary Kechter, 87

Funeral services for Mary Elizabeth Kechter, 87, of Bayard will be held at 10 am Saturday at the Faith United Church of Christ in Bayard. Mrs. Kechter, mother of Mrs. Penny Reitz of Alliance, died Tuesday in the Bayard nursing home.

She was born Nov. 30 1892, in Alexandria, Russia and came to Lincoln in 1909. She had lived in Bayard since 1922. The Rev. Howard B. Osborne will officiate and burial will be in the Bayard Cemetery. The Christensen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.^[1]
