Eleanor was born in 1913. She was the daughter of Frank Butler and Sibella Norman. During WWII she began by serving as an ambulance driver in 1939 but then joined the Auxiliary Territorial Service in 1941 and became a radio operator in various locations. After the war, and after the death of her mother, she spent her time caring for her father. She never married. She passed away in 1990.
