Charles was born in 1840. He was the son of John Nowell and Charlotte Murray.
1841 census: North Petherton, age 1.[1]
1851 census: North Petherton, Somerset, age 10, agricultural labourer, born North Petherton.[2]
He moved with his parents to Ohio. The 1860 census lists him at Monroe, Ohio, age 20, born in England.[3]
He died on 1 March 1863 and was buried at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.[4]
