Maud was born in 1868 in Sophiasburgh and was with her parents there in 1871 and 1881. She was 28 when she married William Major in 1897 in Toronto. In 1898 and 1901 they lived in Cannington, Ontario, where their son was born. In 1921 they lived in Montreal. From 1924 they were in Ottawa, where William died in 1936. She died in 1956 and was buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Picton.
