Henry was born in 1855. He immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio with his parents, two brothers and two sisters in June, 1868, where several siblings (Wilhelm and Karl) had come to about a year earlier. His twin sisters (Friederika and Maria) immigrated later with their husbands and some children. He married twice and had 12 children, nine of whom survived. He was a painter and later a printer for the Waechter Am Anzieger and Waecheter Am Erie, local German newspapers. He was the secretary - treasurer of a German social club at one point. It is possible he died from hot lead fume poisoning generated from his Linotype machine, in an unventilated room, in the years prior to his death in 1908. [1]
