Annie was born in 1874.

On the 1900 census, she and Ernest have been married 1 yr. They are living with or in next apt. to her parents, Nicholas and Mary E. (____) Palmer in St. Louis, MO.^[1]

1910 census, Anna is divorced and living in Burbank, L.A. Co., Ca. with daughter Faith, 8, b Mo. She has no occupation but has a mortgaged home. Her parents, Nicholas and Mary live next door with Anne's siblings and two grandchildren, surnamed Walters.^[2]

On 1920 census Annie declares she is a widow, living with daughter Faith, 18, b MO to father b England, mother b Mo. Annie is 46, b MO. to father b SC and mother b MO. Annie is a nurse. Also in the home are two girls boarding, Caylor Pearl, 8, and Parker Pearl, 9. There are also 7 females in the home ages from 50-92. ^[3]

1930 finds Annie V. still in Glendale living on South Adams St., again listed as divorced, 56, b MO to father b SC, mother b MO. She is a superintendent - rest home. With her is father Nicholas H. Palmer, 88, b SC to parents b SC; her mother Mary E., 75, b MO to parents b MO, and brother Franklin, 46, b MO, a carpenter - buildings. Annie also has 14 women in the rest home to care for.^[4]

The 1940 census for Glendale has her continuing on South Adams St. Annie Tarling, 66, listed again as a widow, same residence as in 1935, She is a "practical nurse -rest home". Her mother Mary E., 84, is still with her, as is brother Frank, 54. She is caring for 11 "inmates" and 2 servants. ^[5]

She passed away in 1969.
