Antonia Panhuijsen (1894)

Biography

Antonia Panhuijsen was born in Amsterdam on 15 November 1894 ^[1]. She is a daughter of Jacobus Panhuijsen and Wilhelmina Christina Gezina Lauritsen.

In late 1920 or early 1921 Antonia moved from Amsterdam to Zandvoort where, on 11 May 1921, she married Nicolaas Edeling ^[2]. Nicolaas was 27 years old at the time and a "handelsreiziger" (traveling salesman) by profession, Antonia was 26. Both mothers (Jannetje Does resp. Wilhelmina Christina Gezina Lauritsen) attended the ceremony, expressed their consent to the marriage and co-signed the marriage-deed. Both fathers (Nicolaas Edeling resp. Jacobus Panhuijsen) had died before.

Nicolaas passed away in 1925. No children are known from this marriage. Had there been any, their birth dates would be too recent anyway (less than 100 years) to be publicly accessible.

Apparently Antonia then moved from Amsterdam to 's-Gravenhage (also "Den Haag" / "The Hague") where, on 25 February 1931, she married for the second time. Her new husband was Egbert Jan van Dort (also living in 's-Gravenhage) ^[3]. Egbert Jan was then 37 years old and a dealer in office machines, Antonia was 36.

The marriage did not last long: it was dissolved on 28 October 1938 by a judgment of the district court in The Hague. The judgment was entered in the registers of the 's-Gravenhage civil registry on 4 November 1938 ^[4].
