Biography

Stephen Parker was born in 1750 in Bradford, MA., the son of Daniel Parker and Esther Pillsbury.[1]

On 20 Nov. 1777, Stephen married Abigail Bailey, of Haverhill, MA, in Haverhill.[2][3] Stephen and Abigail became members of the Second Congregational Church at East Bradford, MA by profession 14 Dec. 1784.[4] They lived in the house on Main Street (East Bradford), built by Stephen's father, and carried on quite extensive farming.

Stephen and Abigail had eight children, all recorded on Bradford records:

  2. Sally, b. 24 Mar. 1780; d. 5 May 1780
  3. Stephen, b. 11 Nov. 1782; m. Mehitable Palmer, 7 May 1807; d. 22 Aug. 1861
  4. Betsey, b. 22 Feb. 1785; m. Bailey Greenough, 12 Nov. 1807; d. 22 Sep. 1862
  5. Sarah, b. 17 Nov. 1787; m. George Carleton, 28 Nov. 1810; d. 29 Nov. 1863
  6. Benjamin, b. 20 Nov. 1789; m. Anna Lapham, 2 June 1811; d. 7 Apr. 1874
  7. Amos, b. 2 Jan. 1792; m1. Sophia Adams Kimball, 16 May 1832; m2. Louisa (Shattuck) Balch, 21 Mar. 1837; d. 31 Oct. 1871, and
  8. Woodbridge, b. 12 July 1796; m. Harriet Martha Thornton, 7 Nov. 1827; d. 5 Mar. 1842.

Stephen passed away in 1801.[5] His intestate estate was probated 1 Feb. 1802 in Essex County, [MA] Court.
