Biography

James Ansel Parker was born in 1836. He was the son of James Parker and Polly Kidder. He was one of the crew on the ill-fated whaling schooner "Virginia"which sailed from Provincetown, Massachusetts April 19, 1854. This schooner was spoken (?) the 25th of July following, and is supposed to have been lost in a very sever gale in August 1854 and that all on board perished. Nothing has been heard from the vessel or crew since. [1]
