Biography
Percy Harold Parker was born in 1890 at Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England. He was the son of Frederick William Parker and Emily Mansfield.[1]
In the 1891 census, Percy H Parker was age 0 living at Staffordshire Street, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire with his mother Emily Parker (32), brother Frederick W Parker (4).[2]
In the 1901 census, Percy H Parker was age 10 living at Rotherhithe, London with his father Frederick Parker (43), mother Emily Parker (41), brothers Frederick Parker (14), George Parker (7), sister Lily Parker (3). Also a boarder John Connor (37).[3]
In the 1911 census, Percy Harold Parker was age 20 living at Bermondsey, London with his father Frederick William Parker (53), mother Emily Parker (52), brothers Frederick William Parker (24), George Herbert Parker (17), sister Lily May Victoria Parker (13). Occupation: Unemployed Butcher.[4]
During World War I, Percy enlisted on 25 Aug 1914 at Rockhampton, Queensland. He embarked for Europe and served with the Australian Imperial Force, 9th Infantry in Gallipoli. On 25 Apr 1915 he received a gun shot wound to the chest which punctured his lung and was hospitalised. After recovering he was assigned to light duties and was transferred to London in 1916. He was discharged on 24 Aug 1918.[6]
Percy Harold Parker and Lilian Edith Brown married on 12 Feb 1916 at St Mark, Purley, Surrey.[7] They had one child Joyce Lilian Parker (b. 1916).
Percy's wife Lilian died in 1919.
Percy Harold Parker and Amy Brady married on 3 Nov 1923 at St Paul, Bow Common, Middlesex.[8] They had one child Harold Walter Parker (b. 1924).
In 1939, Percy H Parker (b. 12 Jun 1890) was living at 5 Sampsons Street, Stepney, London with his wife Amy Parker (b. 3 Jan 1887), children Joyce L Parker (b. 28 Dec 1916), Harold W Parker (b. 20 Sep 1924). Occupation Labourer Wharf Heavy Work.[9]
Percy died on 9 Dec 1967 at Waltham Forest, Essex. He was cremated on 15 Dec 1967 at Newham, London.[10][11]
