On 1 June 1900 he (age 44) was living in Highlands with wife Emma (40), sons Burt (22), Judson (19), Arthur (8), and Richard (2 mo), and daughters Lela (16), Adele (12), Maggie (9), and Babe (3). He was a clammer. ^[1]

On 1 June 1905 he (age 48) was living in Highlands with Emma (44), Benjamin (25), Arthur (11), Maggie (9), Arthur (11), Sadie (8), Richard (5), and Annie A. Guie (10). He was a waterman. ^[2]
