Narandera Argus and Riverina Advertiser (NSW : 1893 - 1953), p. 2. http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article100742402 ................Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Henry Parks were residents of Narrandera over half a- century ago. Mr. Parks, Snr, was an engineer in the Public Works Department, and was stationed in Narrandera during the construction of the railway bridge over the river and the viaduct on the Jerilderie line. He and Mrs. Parks resided at McMahon's Crown Hotel. Mr. Parks was connected with railway construction works at Albury and other places before coming- to Narrandera. Mrs. Parks, who was a daughter of an other old family of this district, the late Mr. and Mrs. Goring, is now aged 71 years, and is residing with her son at Petersham, her husband having died some years ago. Other members of the family are Mr. Herbert C. Parks (Barellan), Mrs.Joseph Foy, (Canowindra), Mrs. Goodfellow (Lake Cargelligo), and Mrs, Goodfellow (Girilambone)
