José Arcadio de Jesus de Parra Duran was born in 1844. He was baptized at San Antonio de Padua, Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico (135 miles SW of Juarez, Mexico) on 26 May 1844, son of Cristanto Parra and Paula Duran.[1]
Arcadio reportedly came with his wife and children to the United States in 1878, according to the 1900 census.
On either 8 or 9 June 1900, Arcadio was living in the household of his daughter Espetacion Mesa and her family, as well as his wife and four children in
Justice Precinct 4 of El Paso County. He reported that he had come to the United States in 1878. Arcadio worked as a day laborer.[2]
Arcadio died from inflammation of the bowels on 19 July 1905 in San Elizario, El Paso County, Texas.[3]
He is listed on the San Elizario Catholic Church records as being interred in the San Elizario Cemetery on 20 July 1905. The record states he was born in Carrizal, was 55-years-old, died from peritonitis, the officiating priest was M. Fernandez, and his wife was Rosalia Rivera.[4]
