In the 1920 federal census of Dallas, Texas, taken 14/15 January, the Marino and Paternostro families both live at 3311 Ross Ave.
Stephen Marino, 71 (b. 1849), who immigrated in 1890 from Italy, his wife Mary, 60 (b. 1860), who joined him in 1892, and son Sam, 21 (b. 1899), born in Texas. Sam works as a miller in a flour mill.
Charles Paternostro, 24 (b. 1896), born in Texas, wife Vance, 21 (b. 1899), born in Louisiana, both of Italian parents, and children Josie, 4 (b. 1916), and Bill, 2 (b. 1918), both born in Louisiana. They have a boarder, Jacob Winsweiler, 66 (b. 1854). Charles is a plaster moulder. Jacob, who immigrated from Germany in 1870, is a painting contractor.[3]

Charlie Paternostro, 35 (b. 1895), wife Vance, 21 (probably 31, b. 1899), and children Josephine, 15 (b. 1915), and William, 13 (b. 1917). Charlie and Vance each first married at 19 and 15, respectively. Charlie was born in Texas of Italian parents. Vance and her parents were born in Louisiana. Charlie is a laborer in a distillery plant. They rent their home.
Their neighbors include Angelo Paternostro, Tony Collura, Luke Collura, and the Bartolo and Baldassare families.[4]
