Biography
Birth
William was born in 1833. He was the son of Joshua Patterson and Nancy Bateman.
Marriage and Children
He married, in 1852, Elizabeth C. Smith. They were married in Philadelphia, Pa., by Rev. William Scribner. They lived in Brandywine Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware, and had six children:
- Mary Ann, b.1854, d.1854
- John S., b.1855, married Mary Bispham
- Marchal, b.1858, d.1858
- Clark A., b.1859, married Catharine Toner, widow of James Blessington
- Bertha A., b.1862, married Daniel M. Barlow
- Frank W., b.1865, married Florence M. Brooks
Death
He passed away about 1896.
